ESPN Offers Free Insider Access, Shop Discounts For Affected Radio App Users

After several days of waiting, I finally received this brief notice in response to my queries about ESPN’s obvious radio app blunder : ESPN is now offering six months of complimentary Insider access ($20 value) for those ESPN Radio app users who have written to express concerns over the pricing. For fans who are already Insiders, or are not interested in using the Insider services and benefits, we are providing an ESPNShop discount code for 20% off an ESPNShop purchase. While this isn’t a bad deal for fans of the network (monetarily, it’s pretty generous for those actually interested in buying an Insider subscription or some ESPNShop gear), it probably won’t mean a thing to the vast majority of ESPN Radio users who have been ripped off. With 1,071 one-star ratings , anything short of an amended rerelease to fully support all past paid features is totally the wrong track to take.

Google’s Motorola buyout set for go-ahead after China approval

Google’s $12.5 billion (£8 billion) deal to buy Motorola has cleared the final hurdle and is heading for the finish line, after China became the last country to approve the takeover. The acquisition, which was agreed in principal back in August, had been subject to a worldwide review process with each country testing the proposal against its own anti-trust regulations. Europe and the United States approved the alliance in February and now China has given Google the green light to rubber stamp the deal. However, various news outlets are reporting that in order to win the regulatory approval, Google had to assure the Chinese that it will keep Android free and open for the next five years
