There you go, Apple has officially launched the iPad in 9 new countries today. Well, the iPad actually didn’t wait on Apple to go around the world, and one in four iPads bought in the US has already flown the country by now. Also, an important amount of pre-orders has already been delivered early throughout the week , so the launch is not really that much of a massive event
As we’ve told you before, the iPad is due to hit nine new countries this Friday and the shipments are already on their way. There is nothing really surprising about that as UPS’ estimates for a standard delivery option guarantee the arrival of the packages by Friday the 28th. When checking my iPad delivery status on UPS for the 200th time this morning however, I noticed one little interesting detail; it’s shipped using UPS Saver, a faster option. I of course jumped right away on the estimation tool which in turn told me that this would grant me a delivery on the 26th actually, or two days early
The iPad is still in high-demand around the world as it looks like the second batch of iPad pre-orders just sold out. It’s the second change of schedule for Apple since it started taking pre-orders in Canada, the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain or Switzerland twelve days ago. You’ll notice however that Apple held quite well on this second wave apparently as it’s been ten days since the June 7th batch started selling
