If you’ve got a tin foil hat, it’s time to put it on. Recent changes to Apple’s updated privacy policy have given those worried about being watched a reason to be concerned.
It has been less than 24 hours since most of you first laid your hands on your iPad 3Gs and there is already a full-featured turn-by-turn navigation solution available in the App Store. It’s called CoPilot Live HD . ALK Technologies first announced that CoPilot Live HD was coming to the App Store only two days ago and now it’s already available. CoPilot Live HD is a turn-by-turn GPS navigation solution designed specifically for the iPad 3G that offers a new split driving view which combines a 3D or 2D map display with turn instructions, giving you all of the information you need in a single view without having to dig through menus.
A neat thing about Android ( which now also works on the iPhone ) is that it comes with a free turn-by-turn GPS navigation app. I mean, TomTom and Navigon are great, but having to drop almost a $100 on them is very painful. Well, according to MacUser , Google is apparently not planning to keep this as a competitive advantage for its platform. In a press conference this morning, Google announced that it will be bringing its free navigation turn-by-turn sat nav app to UK Android owners, as well as: to other smartphone platforms, including the iPhone , although it wouldn’t say when.
