With iPads Included, Apple’s PC Market Share Climbs

The PC market share leaders are HP, Acer and Dell. Apple, with its line of MacBooks, iMacs and Mac Pros is number seven on the current list .

iPhone 4 To Verizon? Really?

Two people “ familiar with the plans ” have told Bloomberg that the iPhone is coming to Verizon in January 2011. If true, this would end Dallas-based AT&T’s hold on the iPhone market in the U.S. which it has held exclusively since 2007.

Are Android Apps Safe To Use?

SMobile released a report that calls into question the safety of using apps on Android OS.  However, the story here is more about what happened after the initial report was filed than anything else and, in the end, makes Apple look that much better. Initially, SMobile made it clear in its whitepaper on Android OS that under certain conditions up to 1 in 5 Android apps may be pulling sensitive personal data from the app’s users without them actually knowing about it. It’s conclusions are scary: about 20 percent of the 48,000 apps in the Android marketplace allow for the third-party application to access sensitive or private data.  This included the ability to make calls or send SMS messages, again without the user knowing about it

Palm Guru Returns to Apple

Palm’s ranks are getting thinner by the day.  It has been announced that one of the architects of the webOS, Rich Dellinger, is heading to Apple.  As Steve Jobs’ newest Senior UI Designer at Apple, Dellinger will likely be charged with adding some cool features and updating a few others on future iPhone versions.
