No Nokia PureView 808 for US

Nokia’s astonishing 41-megapixel cameraphone the PureView 808, will not go on sale in the United States, it has been been confirmed. The news is in keeping with the Finnish company’s vow to stop selling Symbian phones in North America in order to concentrate on its promising Windows Phone offerings. The PureView 808 stole the show at last week’s Mobile World Congress expo in Barcelona prompting hopes that it may reach the US as an unlocked device, free from carrier affiliation

Nokia Lumia 800 battery issue fix imminent

For all you long suffering Nokia Lumia 800 owners out there, the end of the fast drain battery issue could be in sight, along with fixes for a number of other bugs as well. The Lumia 800 was Nokia’s first handset to sport the Windows Phone operating system after its huge deal with Microsoft.

 

Exclusive: Android Jelly Bean could come first from Asus

Asus hopes its close partnership with Google will lead it to be the first company to offer devices running Android Jelly Bean – version 5.0. Asus prides itself on its Android upgrade efficiency, as it was the first to provide tablets running Honeycomb and the first to push the Ice Cream Sandwich update to its tablets. Benson Lin, Asus’ Corporate Vice President told TechRadar: “Asus is very close to Google, so once they have Android 5.0 I think there will be a high possibility that we will be the first wave to offer the Jelly Bean update.” Lean, mean, jelly bean machine Asus announced its 3-in-1 Padfone device at MWC 2012 , which sees a mobile phone, tablet and netbook combined into one device running Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

Hands on: HTC Sensation XE Ice Cream Sandwich review

TechRadar has been sent by special delivery HTC’s Ice Cream Sandwich update for the HTC Sensation XE so we’ve downloaded, installed and booted it up to find out what’s changed. The update can be installed over the air and we hooked ourselves up to the office Wi-Fi to ensure a speedy download. All you need to do is to go to Settings > About Phone > Software Update and follow the on-screen instructions. In total it took less than 30 minutes to download and install Ice Cream Sandwich on our Sensation XE.
