Apple just pulled quite a surprise on the Apple blogging world tonight. Out of the blue, Apple’s PR just announced that tomorrow’s special Fall event will be streamed to the world on video in real-time at Apple.com.
Of course, this is awesome. Fanboys all around the world have been dreaming about this for years. Being able to watch Steve in live is unprecedented. Also, it’s very likely that this is a demonstration of their new streaming capabilities, so the new iTunes Store in the cloud is probably a given at this point.
On the downside, this will probably mark the end of the long standing liveblogging tradition. Well, we still have to see how Apple’s servers hold under the pressure.
On a further note, it seems like only Mac and iOS users will be given access to the stream, but we’re not sure how or if Apple will enforce that.
Yet, you shouldn’t let that keep you away from the AppAdvice liveblog which will be happening as scheduled, with our special pre-conference starting at 9am PT. We’ll be doing the play by play, quotes and of course, enlightened live commentary so stay tuned.
