O2: HTC Desire Android 2.2 update ’several weeks’ away

O2 has told TechRadar that it will be ’several weeks’ before HTC Desire owners on its network will get the Android 2.2 upgrade, with tests on a service provider specific version ongoing. The eagerly awaited upgrade to the Android OS brings a host of new features and functionality, but its arrival for phones locked to networks will be weeks and not days away. An O2 spokesman indicated to TechRadar that any update would be ’several weeks’ away, although the network is well aware that Desire owners are champing at the bit for Android 2.2 – nicknamed FroYo

Important Information about Submitting Your Apps <br>to iTunes Connect

All binary submissions to iTunes Connect must now be uploaded using Application Loader either through Xcode’s built-in App Submission process, or directly using the Application Loader software. This offers a significantly improved experience over uploading through iTunes Connect, including faster uploading, a more stable connection, and early validation warnings. Make sure the status of your app in iTunes Connect is Waiting for Upload before you submit your binary. Read the Distributing Applications section of the iOS Development Guide for more information about preparing your app for submission to iTunes Connect.

 

Report: iPhone Apps Can Access Contact Information

In June, I reported that some Android apps could compromise a user’s data. Today, a new report calls into question the safety of some iPhone apps as well. The news isn’t pretty: compared with approximately eight percent of Android apps that could cause security problems, 14 percent of all iPhone apps could do the same thing
